Stress Coaching

Stress can be a killer - quite literally. It is well documented that stress is a direct contributor to deaths through cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Less serious but equally undesirable conditions caused by stress include Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS), skin rashes, obesity, substance abuse, sleep problems, fatigue and depression. Bottom line, stress is best avoided!

The classic portrayal of stress is that of an individual being very angry and tearing their hair out because they are overworked. Whilst this is sometimes the case, stress can operate more covertly than that to the point that people don't even realise that they are stressed. This can happen, for example, if someone is leading a life of 'quiet desperation', just muddling through from week to week in a job that is unfulfilling. The suppressed emotions of unhappiness will begin to generate stress symptoms. The same is also true for people who may be involved in an unhappy relationship.

Coaching can help enormously in identifying the CAUSES of stress rather than merely dealing with the symptons. By helping our clients to raise their awareness of the 'happiness gaps' in their lives, the true reasons for their stress will be uncovered. It is then much easier to get control of the situation.
